...Training up today's students to become tomorrow's solutions.

My name is Brigitta Baker, M.S.Ed, and I’m the Director/Steward of Sonlight Bay Christian Consortium, LLC. I know your time is a very valuable commodity, so I’d like to take a moment to personally thank you for choosing to visit our site and get to know our homeschool a little bit better. In addition to being blessed with the responsibility of managing this school, I am also a
certified teacher. This is my 13th year serving as a Christian elementary educator. I hold a Master’s degree in Education with a concentration in K – 12 literacy. I am also GT (Gifted and Talented) qualified. In 2014 we opened our home to a small group of students, and Sonlight Bay was launched.

With that being said, we deem it an honor to have the opportunity to serve and minister to our students and our families. We are a community, a family, of like-minded individuals with the intent to assist our children in cultivating their talents to help them prepare to connect with their purpose here in this world. As we work with our parents to train up our student to glorify and honor God as they become tomorrow’s solutions, we have the privilege of playing a small role in making our contribution towards growing God’s kingdom. At Sonlight Bay, we take that role seriously.

Being a Christian educator means that we do our best to meet our student’s needs as we function in the loving capacity of: prophet (speak God’s truth to our students) priest (pray for, listen to, understand, empathize, and forgive our students), king (lead our students to discover truth), and shepherd (“…keep watch over [our students] as men who must give an account…” (Hebrews 13:17)). Therefore, we resolve that the role of Christian educator may be summed up in one word, servant, “…just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve…” (Matthew 20:28). We know we have all fallen short of His glory, but as we work together to encourage one another, we continue each day to advance forward towards carrying out His calling in our lives. If we so choose, through our submission to His will, we get to be shining lights that reflect Him to the world by becoming lifetime: learners, servants, leaders, worshippers, and representatives of Christ. In the end, when all is said and done. He’s what life is all about.

If you feel God has called your child to attend Sonlight Bay, we look forward to hearing from you!

“Therefore welcome one another as Christ has welcomed you, for the glory of God.”  Romans 15:7
